What is Contra?
​
Contra dancing is a wonderful combination of physical activity, mental stimulation, and social interaction, all in a spirit of friendship. You will interact with everyone in the line or circle. The caller will guide you through the steps before & during the music.
Contra dancing is known for its welcoming atmosphere, where dancers of all skill levels can join in. We value fun over technique.
No registration or partner is required; simply show up. Beginners should come from 6:00-6:30 to learn some basic moves. Then, from 6:30-8:30, we will dance.

What you don't see is the 10 minutes spent before each dance learning the moves.
Periodically, we will dance a contra-square fusion or Scottish dance as seen in videos 3 & 4.
